The NDYCUSA was established in 2002 with the objective of supporting Nepal's democratic movement for a full-fledged democracy (Lok Tantra).NDYCUSA worked tirelessly to achieve our objectives. With the strong support and help of the members of Nepali Diaspora in North America as well as from other parts of the world, we organized 8 major rallies in front of the UN Headquaters in New York and the White House in Washington, D.C., to draw the international community's attention towards the October 4 and February 1 royal takeover of Nepal and the atrocities committed by the brutal royal regime. The NDYCUSA also organized many talk programs, interaction programs and events in order to garner international support for Nepal's democracy and peace. The NDYCUSA also led several delegations to US Senators, the members of the US Congress, state legislators and other high level US government officials and urged them to denounce the royal regime and support Nepal's democratic forces. The NDYCUSA also organized dozens of reception programs and interaction programs with several high level Nepalese delegations visiting the US and the United Nations in order to bring Nepalese Diaspora Community members and the members of the Nepalese delegates together.

As we all know, Nepal's transition is not smooth. However, Nepal has made a new history by forcing the authoritarian king to bow before the people and is in the process of building new Nepal and truely institutionalizing its democratic and peace process. As a Diaspora organization, we are glad that we were a part of the Nepal's democratic movement. In future, the NDYCUSA will continue its activities to help Nepal consolidate democracy and peace. It will also continue raising Nepalese Diaspora members concerns as well.
